Opportunities for Specialist CBT for Psychosis and Bipolar Disorder Training for Early Intervention Team Staff

22 Jun 18

Greater Manchester West Mental Health NHS Foundation Trust are delighted to announce that the CBT Training Centre will once again be offering its training programmes in CBT for psychosis & bipolar disorder (CBTp), to services in the North of England. Continued national funding has been secured, although we are awaiting confirmation of the number of places we can offer on each of the programmes. Funded places are available for EI services to train appropriate staff to deliver CBTp, which will assist services in meeting the DH Targets for provision of CBTp to service users.

They are currently seeking suitable applicants for two levels of training:

  • A one academic year (one day per week) CBTp Top-up Postgraduate Certificate programme, aimed at qualified CBT practitioners trained and experienced in working with disorders of anxiety and depression, and wishing to develop their specialist CBT skills with psychosis and bipolar disorder.
  • A two year Post Graduate Diploma in CBT: CBT for Psychosis & Bipolar disorder pathway (teaching one day per week), aimed at practitioners who have some introductory knowledge and experience of CBT practice, but limited formal training in the approach, who would like to develop as a qualified CBTp practitioner.

You are invited to circulate this information and to nominate appropriate staff to apply for these programmes. Details of each of these programmes can be found below, including service requirements. Further information including application forms and KSA details (for potential students with no core profession) can be found at https://www.gmmh.nhs.uk/cbt-CBTpTraining

NB: The closing date for applications is Friday 13th July 2018. Places are limited, subject to suitability, and to service agreement to meet all requirements (please see service requirements below).
