23 Sep 14

Compassion Field are offering flexible mindfulness training choices for everyone to enjoy and also trainings for professional development.

Mindfulness- Based Stress Reduction (MBSR)
There is still a last chance to consider embarking on the original 8 week / 9 session group model created by Dr Jon Kabat-Zinn & colleagues. This is offered over 5 Saturdays in Liverpool Quaker Meeting House commencing 27th September 2014. This is a wonderful way to spend a Saturday with long-lasting benefits through the weeks.

Mindfulness & Compassion Skills Training (MCST) over 6-12 months
Including an additional location for evening seminars at Salford Royal Foundation Trust commencing 4th December 2014. They really want to support colleagues serving in the field of health and well-being who are just beginning to consider mindfulness and compassion in their roles. They are also dedicated to supporting practice opportunities for those already using mindfulness within their work.

Here's a look at some of what will be covered in MCST :-

  • Overview of how mindfulness, as a teaching from ancient wisdom traditions, has been adapted within modern healthcare systems
  • How mindfulness and core values training can support the changes recommended in The Invisible Patients. We ARE our patients!
  • Developing mindfulness & compassion skills that can be used within the therapeutic relationship
  • Mindfulness As the Appropriate Response & When Is Mindfulness NOT Helpful?
  • In the light of The Public Inquiry Francis Report (2013), we will explore ways in which mindfulness and compassion practice can contribute to regulation, adaptability and resiliency?
  • Beginning with ourselves we are able to begin to envisage how we might tailor Mindfulness and compassion Practices to the context & be supported by growing practice community.
  • Training requirements, pathways, ethics and standards
