Dear Colleagues,
Improving access to psychological therapies is a key part of the new integrated community offer for people with severe mental health problems within the NHS Long Term Plan.
and to support this ambition, HEE and NHS England and Improvement are working together to offer a suite of training for adult and older adult mental health workforce. Training staff to deliver these therapies means that more service users can get access to therapy more quickly. We're offering training in a range of therapies and this video explains more about mentalization-based treatment or MBT.
Professor Peter Fonagy, who is one of the founders of MBT and Marsha McAdam, who has first-hand experience of receiving this treatment talk about MBT and how it can help those who struggle with some of the difficulties associated with the diagnosis of personality disorder.
