Free taster workshops - Improving Patient Safety: Learning to be Safer through Human Factors & Ergonomics

Human factors refer to environmental, organisational and job factors, and human and individual characteristics, which influence behaviour and interactions at work in a way which can affect health and safety. An understanding of these issues is key to patient safety.

We are pleased to offer free taster workshops will offer a learning opportunity as part of Health Education England's 'Learning to be Safer' programme and aims to:

  1. Introduce the concept of HFE – what is it and what you already know?
  2. Discuss integration between Quality Improvement and HFE – how can different improvement methods be aligned to support change?
  3. Design solutions to everyday problems by taking a HFE approach – how can HFE be applied practically?

Who should attend

These sessions are open to all staff, from any role, health and social care settings, and those with organisational responsibility for patient quality and safety management issues. Each session will be followed by a focus group session lunch will be provided 12:00 -13:00 Refreshments and Lunch will be provided.
